The Contests
-
Weekly: The weekly contest includes all regular season pro football
games, starting October 5, 2008 and ending December 28, 2008. Each week you pick the
pro football teams you think will win that week. For purposes of possible ties, you will be
asked to pick the total combined points to be scored by both teams in that week's tiebreaker
game (Monday night game or last weekly game).
-
Postseason: The postseason contest includes all wild card games through the
championship game, starting January 3, 2009 and ending February 1, 2009.
You will pick the pro football teams you think will win the games during the postseason. For purposes of possible
ties, you will be asked to pick the total combined points to be scored by both teams in the
championship game.
Scoring and How Winners Are Determined
One point is awarded for each correct pick. There will be thirteen (13) weekly winners and one (1) postseason winner.
-
Weekly: The contestant with the most points accumulated for a specific week during the regular season is the weekly winner for that specific week. If there is a tie, the tiebreaker is used to determine the winner (over or under the tiebreaker combined score is used when there is a tied combined score. The under score is awarded the win). If there is still a tie, a random drawing between the tied contestants will be held to determine the winner.
-
Postseason: The contestant with the most points accumulated through the postseason contest period is the postseason contest winner. If there is a tie, the tiebreaker is used to determine the winner (over or under the tiebreaker combined score is used when there is a tied combined score. The under score is awarded the win). If there is still a tie, a random drawing between the tied contestants will be held to determine the winner.
Making Picks and Game Deadlines
-
All games listed are eastern time.
-
Email reminders will be sent reminding you to make your picks for the week.
-
Game picks must be submitted before the scheduled start of the
game(s). See schedule for cut off times.
(Example: It is 2:30 p.m. est on Sunday. Six games started at 1:00 p.m est. You can
login to make your picks, but the selection tool for the games that
have started are disabled. You can still make your picks for the games
that start at 4:00 p.m. est and later.)
-
Picks for regular season games sheduled later than the upcoming week cannot be made. Once all of the games have started for a given week, only the next week of games are
automatically made available for picking.
-
You can also login and modify your picks as long as the game has not been played or started.
-
If a game has been played or started, the option to select the team is disabled.
-
If you forgot about a Thursday or Saturday game or did not get your picks made before the early Sunday games started, you may still make your picks on the remaining games for that week.
See schedule for cut off times.
-
Remember to check the schedule; some regular season games are played on Thursdays and Saturdays. Some preseason games are also played on Wednesdays and Fridays.
